A VIGIL AT THE CUBAN EMBASSY IN WASHINGTON, DC, WILL BE HELD FOR THE FOURTH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 11J MASSIVE PROTESTS IN CUBA

Center for a Free Cuba, Washington, DC, July 10, 2025. On Friday, July 11th at 7:00PM a vigil will be held at the Cuban Embassy that is co-organized by the Center for a Free Cuba, Students for Liberty, & the Victims of Communism Memorial Foundation on the four year anniversary of the 11J protests in Cuba.
Attention will be drawn to the cases of political prisoners in serious health conditions, or under severe repression, on behalf of the thousands of political prisoners who today survive in inhumane conditions inside Cuba prisons. Among them are Alexander Díaz Rodríguez, Virgilio Mantilla Arango, Daniel Moreno de la Peña, Loreto Hernández García, Alieski Calderín Acosta, Félix Navarro Rodríguez, Sayli Navarro Alvarez, Maria Cristina Garrido Rodríguez, Luis Manuel Otero Alcántara, Maykel Castillo Pérez y José Daniel Ferrer García..
“The Cuban people took to the streets and demanded freedom, as a demonstration of their desire for regime change. The dictatorship’s response has been and continues to be political repression and measures that further impoverish the Cuban people. This must stop; Cubans need to be free to rebuild their country,” said John Suárez, Executive Director of the Center.
